Frequently asked questions

What does Socialprofiler do?

Socialprofiler creates a Personal Interest Profile by analyzing the interests of an individual, based on their social media actions.
Socialprofiler does this by tracking the largest social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, X & TikTok) to categorize accounts across all platforms and takes in account an individual’s public profile, likes and followings.
Socialprofiler then reports the individual’s interests in dozens of meta categories and over 500,000+ interests from broad to very specific.

What’s included in a Socialprofiler report:

  • Personal Interests analysis: each person’s interests are identified individually and represented with their share relative to all other interests of the same person.
  • Summary Analytics: a concise AI generated narrative where hundreds of interests are compressed into the quickly readable text digest containing the most significant insights about the individual, such as Interests, Profession, Location, Political Views, Family, Habits, Unusual Aspects and Overall Assessment

Please see report examples here.

How do I use Socialprofiler reporting or information?

  1. SAFETY & PROTECTION: parents wanting to know more about teachers, coaches, tutors, doctors, nurses, advisors…anyone with access to their homes or loved ones.
  2. LEGAL: jury selection & consulting; law firms that interview & depose individuals.
  3. RELATIONSHIP or DATING SITES: obtain a Socialprofiler interest profile, like a “compatibility report”, to users before establishing a relationship.
  4. SALES & NEW BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT: prospecting; all industries where there’s a need to interact with others they may not already know personally.
  5. Non-FCRA SCREENING: standard background checks don’t provide data on a person’s interests. SP identifies these interests, or the nature of an individual.
  6. INVESTIGATIONS & DUE DILIGENCE: Professionals or others looking for strategic business, personal or professional partners.
  7. IN-HOME GIG CONTRACTORS: Families wanting to know more about people accessing their homes: caregivers, nannies, elder care, housekeepers, maids, general contractors, realtors & brokers, etc.

Socialprofiler makes the lives of our clients safer, easier and more productive by reporting the interests of others who are interacting with their family, friends and businesses.

What are other applications of Socialprofiler?

Aside from jury consulting, background checks, due diligence, screening and sales applications, Socialprofiler can also be used for:

  1. Human Resources Mgmt: on-going employee monitoring of social media activity.
  2. Social Media Influencer & Opinion Leader Selection: know if an individual is effective, under/over-priced or is quick to disseminate information.
  3. Interpersonal Connections: when building a key relationship of any kind, our personal interest profile assessments mitigate your risk.
  4. Unbiased Social Media Analyses: Since Socialprofiler is statistically based, you see the key interests of a person while maintaining neutrality & objectivity.
  5. Social Media Market Research & Business Analytics: Identify audience segmentation & focus group development by identifying crossover between groups and individuals.
  6. Social Media Information Flow: Calculate the time for a post to go viral, determine brand similarity/differences and develop marketing strategies.

Why would I use Socialprofiler?

Would knowing an individual’s personal interests help you make better decisions?

Make a difference between failure or success? Or give you a competitive edge? Sometimes it can mean exactly that.

Socialprofiler lets you know about the people in your life on a deeper level, before you’ve even met them.

Look beyond what you already know and go farther than traditional social media background check offerings.

Now, you can know a person’s interests before they’ve ever said a word, so you can see things before they happen.

How is Socialprofiler different from other social media research companies?

Our social media Personal Interest Assessments provide superior information by evaluating social media actions, identifying interests within an individual's background that may prove essential in any selection process.

Socialprofiler researches, develops and reveals individual friend circles and connection lists, providing shared commonalities and interests not found in traditional analyses. We utilize proprietary, patent-pending AI and Big Data technology to identify users interests based on their Instagram, X, TikTok and Facebook bios, followings and likes, generating unprecedented report accuracy.

Why is Socialprofiler better?

Socialprofiler is like no other platform, identifying 99% of an individual’s interests by using multiple methods to assign a persons’s social media account its categorical classifications, such as graph matching and/or layering, and data clusterization among disparate groups.

How do we display interests assigned to the person in the report?

In each Socialprofiler report, a person's interests are categorized and placed in a series of ‘folders’ containing all of the social media accounts the person follows or likes. Based on this categorization, Socialprofiler then analyzes the various data points, compares them to all other social media accounts, and develops our patented Personal Interest Assessment See example.

What if I believe there is an error in the Socialprofiler report?

Socialprofiler is a customer-centric organization that values user feedback. As such, we provide the opportunity for users to question results.

To request a review of a particular interest, users can request it directly in our report interface using the “report an issue” button on the bottom right-hand side of each interest screen. Upon receiving a request, Socialprofiler will then analyze the results and make any necessary adjustments.

Socialprofiler continually upgrades its technologies and is committed to address any deficiencies as soon as possible.

What is the Summary Analytics section of the Socialprofiler social media personal interest assessment report. How is it made?

The Summary is generated by Socialprofiler’s Large Language Model which processes all identified interests for an individual through a sequence of queries to a neural network. These patented processes produce a condensed set of AI-derived insights about the person being evaluated.

Socialprofiler’s engineering and data science teams continually improve our interest-detection accuracy. With over 99% of accounts directly or in-directly linked to an interest through statistical methods, our precision is unmatched.

Summary Analytics are only provided as an easy-to-use synopsis of a person’s interest results and are not intended to provide opinions on a particular person. Each Socialprofiler client must review a person’s areas of interest for themselves to make their own value judgment. Since Socialprofiler reporting is not FCRA compliant, users are required to complete their own fact-checking activities outside of Socialprofiler reporting for full compliance.

Is Socialprofiler FCRA compliant?

No. Socialprofiler is not FCRA compliant and should not be used for the purposes of employment background screening, housing selection purposes or any other activity that requires FCRA compliance.

How does Socialprofiler collect social media user actions?

Socialprofiler uses publicly available data, as well as big data analysis, to track user behavior and evaluate actions performed.

Socialprofiler builds a hierarchy of accounts in the same theme, identifying opinion leaders & building pipelines of interests from generalized (e.g., guns) down to more specific (e.g., self-defense training, assault rifles and more specific). See example.

Our technology allows categorization of borderline accounts, those that can be assigned to two or more themes, resulting in account classification in multiple dimensions.

What does Socialprofiler actually measure?

Utilizing specified social media platform data, Socialprofiler can measure an individual’s interests and compare them to the average U.S. user for that platform, or in aggregate across two or more platforms.
Socialprofiler does not omit details that can be accidentally missed during manual searches (like our competitors) and their corresponding results.

How accurate are Socialpropfiler reports?

All Instagram, Twitter, TikTok and Facebook likes and follows included in the report are over 99% accurate. We collect data from public accounts only, so you will not be able to receive data on private accounts.
In aggregate, Socialprofiler can scrape and then analyze likes and follows that exist on one or more social media platforms. However, like all other online analysis tools, we do not guarantee we have them all in a specific report.

I want a report based on multiple social media platforms. Can I add them all under a single Socialprofiler profile?

Yes. We have an easy-to-use dashboard where you can add individual’s accounts on multiple social media platforms and then generate a report.

Do I need to know a username for every person or social media platform to get a Socialprofiler report?

No. There are two ways to find a persons’ social media account across any and all platforms:

  1. Provide an exact username for a person on a platform.
  2. Provide a person’s first & last name, and optionally a state of residence and approximate age, so Socialprofiler can generate a list of most relevant users for you to choose from.

Regardless of which way you choose to find an individual’s account, Socialprofiler will help you identify all other accounts that person may have (based on the one account you have chosen) to locate their information on all other social media platforms.

What if I DON’T know a person's username on ANY of the social media platforms?

That’s OK. All Socialprofiler needs to generate a list of relevant matches is for you to provide that person’s first & last name, and state of residency. You can then select your target individual from a list of their most relevant matches.

Will Socialprofiler provide me a report based on a person’s activities across multiple social media platforms?

Yes. That is one of the many strengths and unique capabilities of Socialprofiler. Find the person on one social media platform, and we will find other accounts across all other platforms we analyze.

Socialprofiler uses refined search algorithms to locate the same individual across multiple social networks. Once identified on one platform, we refine our search across others. Socialprofiler leverages all available information about a person, supported by sophisticated graph-based search algorithms.

What if I only know a person's first & last name, and state of residency?

Great! That is all Socialprofiler needs to generate a list of most relevant matches for you to select the appropriate and specific individual you want to analyze and generate a personal assessment report on.

Do you need my social media username or password to generate a social media background screening report on an individual?

No we don't. All analyses and results are completed on our side. Socialprofiler only needs the usernames (or full names & states) to obtain the reports you want.

Can I get a report on a user if I don't follow them on one or more of the social media platforms?

Yes you can. You can generate reports on any Instagram, X, TikTok or Facebook account, unless they are private. Socialprofiler does not access private accounts.

Can an individual get to know that I have requested a Socialprofiler report on him/her?

Absolutely not. There is no connection between you and the social media platform users we are generating reports on. In addition, you can delete search results from your dashboard after you read the report.

Do you have a trial?

You can see samples of celebrity monitoring reports here to see if Socialprofiler meets your needs. You can also search for an individual of the interest on our main page and get a very limited report without paying anything.

Is it possible to pay with a credit/debit card?

Yes, we use a safe and secure payment processing service called Stripe. Most debit and credit cards are welcome.

Can I get a Socialprofiler social media personal assessment report on private Instagram, X, Tiktok or Facebook accounts?

We respect an individual’s privacy and privacy laws, so you cannot get social media background check report on the private accounts on any social media platform using Socialprofiler.

Is there an API available?

We don’t currently offer a public API, but it’s on our roadmap. If you’re interested in API access, please reach out to our sales team at [sales@socialprofiler.com](mailto:sales@socialprofiler.com) with an estimate of your monthly report volume. Depending on your needs, we may be able to provide early access or prioritize your request.

Can I download reports?

Our reports are designed to be interactive - clicking on any interest reveals the specific accounts it's based on. Users can highlight potential red flags or use keyword search in real time. These dynamic features aren't supported in a static PDF format, so we do not currently offer report downloads.

However, when requested, starting with our Professional Plan, you can generate a shareable link for any report - no limits on views or shares. Additionally, if you’d like a static version for your records, browser extensions like GoFullPage can be used to capture and download any page of the report including the main one.

How do I cancel my subscription?

To cancel Socialprofiler plan, go to Dashboard > Settings > Manage your subscription link on the bottom of the page.

I’m a resident of the European Union and/or interested in running a report on an EU person, can I use Socialprofiler?

No. Per our Terms of Service, Socialprofiler is only to be used by U.S. residents and on U.S. residents. If you believe the subject you are running a report on might be a resident of the EU or any other jurisdiction outside the U.S., please stop using the Socialprofiler service immediately.

Can I request that you refrain from collecting data from my social media accounts?
